Tocumen Airport is located 24 kilometers from Panama City.

Considered as the hub of Central and Latin America, it serves daily 30 countries and 69 cities.

 

In early 2012, because of « North Terminal » inauguration, Tocumen goes from 5 million capacity to 10 million passengers; allowing it to face the significant increase in flow.

 

Mid 2012, the government decided to launch a new phase of expansion called « South Terminal ». The tender is launched at the end of the second semester and the work initiated in februrary 2013 by a consortium under the lead of an international builder. Once the South Terminal Completed, Tocumen will have a capacity of 18 million passengers per year.

 

This 780 million USD investment includes a new additional terminal with 20 gates, a third runway, a parking area, the 4 lanes connection between the highway and the terminal.
